Episode 110: Finally!
Katie waited anxiously for Carlos to come back, he was running when she'd seen him last. Finally he did, but his cheeks were burning red. A quick glance down explained why; he'd had a small accident. A small dark spot was painfully obvious against his khacki shorts. Katie sighed, shrugging off her sweater and handing it to Carlos. "Here," She said.
"You need that," Carlos said, trying to put it back on her.
"No, you do, Gustavo will probably have a fit if you go in there like that," Katie answered, securing it around his waist in a knot.
"But what about your arms?" Carlos asked bluntly, examing the three cuts that were still pretty red on her forearm.
"I'll deal with it," Katie whispered.
"Carlos?" Kelly called.
"Um, yeah, we're coming," Katie said, following nervously behind Carlos. Gustavo had stepped in to the hall to answer a call from Griffin. Kelly came back in the room and gasped when she saw Katie's arms.
"What happened?!" she asked worriedly, rushing to look at her cuts.
"Nothing, I was putting the dishes away and a glass broke," Katie fibbed softly.
"No, you did these on purpose," Kelly said, knowing those kinds of cuts. "You too?"
Katie looked at Kelly, wide-eyed. "What do you mean 'too?'" she asked. Kelly rolled up her skirt a little to reveal faded gray lines across her thigh.
"The morning I woke up with a ring on my finger, that was the last time," She said softly.
Katie's eyes watered and she hugged Kelly tightly, feeling Carlos join in too.
"Promise me right now never again," Kelly said, pulling away. Katie nodded softly, wiping the tears from her eyes. "Now that that's out of the way, have you thought about the offer?"
"I have," Katie said softly, grabbing Carlos' hand.
"And?!" Gustavo asked.
"I accept," She said. "It can't hurt to try, can it?"
Kelly squealed, hugging Katie tightly again. "Welcome to the family!"
MEANWHILE AT LUCY'S APARTMENT.....
"Hey, sorry, Camille and Logan needed me," James said, approaching the girl who looked him down.
"What really happened?" Lucy demanded.
"Logan had too much coffee before he went to sleep," James said softly. "He's been really scared for Camille and the baby."
"Ohhh," Lucy said, relaxing some. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"Cuz I didn't want to embarrass him," James said. "You won't tell him you know, will you?"
"Of course not baby," Lucy said, smiling and taking James' hand. "Now weren't we gonna go shopping?" James nodded excitedly.
BACK WITH KATIE AND CARLOS......
"Well that went well," Katie said happily. "Are your pants dry? I doubt the people at the grocery store are as forgiving as Kelly."
"About that," Carlos said. "We have to make a different stop first."
"Where?" Katie asked nervously.
"I'll show you," Carlos said happily, opening the door for Katie.
