Episode 119: fun in the sun (?)
(AN: I know the title sucks, but this one is actually kinda cute. :P)
After a short walk they all arrived at their intended destination; The Lolly-Pop.
"Duuuude why are we riding this little thing?" James whined. Katie bit her lip. She didn't want to upset James, but this thing actually looked like something fun, but at the same time not terrifying. Logan whapped James on the back of the head, making Katie and Carlos giggle. James stuck his tongue out but didn't argue, seeing how this little ride was something both Logan AND Katie were actually willing to get on. Katie kept drinking, still really thirsty. She knew this would probably come back to bite her, but she didn't want to freak everyone out again.
"You okay?" Carlos asked her suddenly. She realized she had been locked in her head for the duration of their line time.
"Yeah, just... thinking," Katie said.
"Whatchya thinking about?" Carlos asked, worrying again.
"About Kendall, Camille, how I need to revive my blog," Katie shrugged.
"Oh yeah! Man you haven't posted on THERE in forever," Carlos chuckled. "I could help ya if you wanted."
"Yeah, that would be fun," Katie said. "Maybe you could even become co-owner."
"Hah, THAT would be interesting," Carlos laughed. "I can see it, a blog about cupcakes and hockey." Katie burst out laughing with Carlos at that thought.
"Alright what are you two so amused with?" Logan asked with a small smile.
"Oh, nothing, just cupcakes," Katie giggled.
"And Hockey," Carlos chimed in, making the two burst into laughter again. Logan shook his head.
"You two better watch it or people might think you're a couple," James said. Katie instantly stopped laughing, pulling away from Carlos.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Carlos asked.
"I already cheated once, I don't need it looking like I'm doing it again," Katie whispered. Carlos pulled her in to a hug.
"This is just what best friends do," he whispered back. Katie smiled, hugging Carlos. He always knew what to say. "Now SMILE. I don't wanna see any frowns on your face, got it?" Katie nodded, beaming. They finally reached the front of the line.
BLEH. THEY HAD FUN, AFTER:
"Okay wow, that WAS fun," James chuckled. Katie and Carlos had their arms slung around each other, both laughing their heads off. James rolled his eyes and smiled, they looked like two little kids.
"Where to now?" James asked.
"Hold on, lemme check," Carlos said, conferring with Katie as to where he wanted to head next. She examined the map carefully before folding it back up and leading the group towards where they needed to go, sipping at her water.
"Empty yet?" Carlos asked, noticing how frequently the girl was drinking.
"Not yet," katie mumbled, blushing.
"Hey, no blushing, please?" Carlos said, giving her the puppy eyes.
"How can I say no to you like that?" Katie giggled. Carlos smiled. "You're adorable, you know?"
"Yeah," Carlos said. They arrived at their next destination then. "You gonna come?" Carlos asked, looking at the mammoth of a coaster. Katie shook her head violently, her ponytail smacking her face. "Okay then. Come on James," Carlos said, getting in the line. Katie and Logan wandered around aimlessly.
"So... you feel better now?" Logan finally asked.
"Yeah, just got too hot," Katie said. "I'm sorry I made you worry."
"It's fine, I enjoy worrying about someone else for once," Logan chuckled, rather awkwardly. Katie smiled.
"Camille is really lucky to have you ya know," She said, trying to build Logan up. "If there were anyone to put her in this mess, at least she has someone with a level-head."
Logan blushed. "Thanks."
Carlos and James bounced back over to them.
"THAT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME!" They shouted.
"Good, glad you enjoyed it," Katie giggled. Carlos looked at her and smiled. "Where do you guys wanna go next?" As if on cue, Logan's stomach growled.
"Fooood," Logan said. They all agreed, Katie's cup empty anyways. They all followed Carlos, because for once he knew where he was going, and each went to find food.
"Hmm, whaddya want?" Carlos asked Katie, his arm still slung over her shoulder protectively.
"I dunno," Katie said, blushing at the looks people were giving her and Carlos. "pizza?"
"OOOOHH! Yeah that sounds goood, course, I want a corn dog," Carlos babbled. Katie giggled, just making Carlos smile wider. He ordered their food and paid for it, handing Katie her cup back. "Go find James and Logan and I'll meet you there." Katie nodded, skipping off to find her friends. Carlos watched her, drooling slightly, but quickly snapped himself out of it. She was KENDALL'S girlfriend. Not his.
MEANWHILE....
"Dude, she's FINE," James kept trying to convince Logan.
"But what if she isn't?" Logan argued.
"Then Lucy will take care of it," James countered.
"What's going on?" Katie asked, sitting down.
"Logan is convinced that he needs to go back home to Camille," James explained.
"Dude she's fine," Katie said, once again sipping. "And besides, if it's an emergency, Lucy'll call. RELAX."
"Yeah, but I just-"
"No butts," James and Katie argued. Carlos sat down then.
"What'd i miss?" He asked, passing Katie her nuggets.
"Logan wants to go home and check on Camille," Katie informed him, biting into her pizza.
"What?! Dude she's fine!" Carlos argued.
"Yeah yeah. I'm going to call her," Logan said, leaving the table. The three of them shrugged, returning their focus to their food.
"Don't forget this," Katie said, handing James his insulin pen.
"Thanks," He said with a blush. "Hey, how many of those things have you downed?" James asked as Katie took another sip. She set the cup down and looked at her lap.
"Three," She whispered. Carlos shrugged, going back to his food. James just stared at the tiny girl. He of all people knew how evil ones kidneys could be. Katie could feel James' eyes boring into her, and Carlos noticed how quiet she had become.
"James leave her alone!" He snapped.
"What?! Three is kinda excessive," James pointed out. He and Carlos got in an argument, so Katie went to find Logan, who was even more worried now.
"Camille I- no but-" Katie tapped on Logan's shoulder, and silently reached for the phone. Logan handed it to her.
"What's he so upset about?" Katie asked.
"He just misses me, and he wants to take care of me," Camille sighed. "He'd try and take care of you but Carlos snatched that role up. And by the way what did I tell you about drinking?!"
"Yeah I know Camille," Katie said, rolling her eyes.
"Show him a good time and he'll loosen up. He's not one for thrill rides but anything fast or wet he'll love," Camille explained. "And if nothing else call me and I'll give him a good slap in the head." Katie giggled, knowing Camille could probably get that to happen. "AND DON'T FORGET TO PEE."
"Yeah yeah," Katie said, shrugging her cousin off, although she realized she needed to go pretty bad.
"And you know I'm right," She said. "Go, then tell Logan to have a good time or else, okay?"
"Okay sissy," Katie sighed. "Love you."
"Love you too kiddo," She said. Katie hung up, deciding for once to actually listen to someone's warnings.
